Teams Ready to Run at Indoor Track & Field Championship

Ames, Iowa - Once again an outstanding class of Big 12 student-athletes will descend on Iowa State University for the 2016 Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championship. ISU is hosting the event for the fourth consecutive year at Lied Athletic Recreation Center, beginning Friday February 26 and concluding Saturday, February 27. lt;br /> lt;br />The event can also be viewed here via FloTrack's online streaming service. Live results from the Championship will also be available via Delta Timing here. lt;br /> lt;br />The loaded field will include both four men's and four women's teams ranked in the nation's top 25. The meet will also feature seven events four men's and three women's - in which the nation's No. 1 ranked competitor/relay squad will compete. lt;br /> lt;br />For the men, defending Big 12 champion Texas leads the way with a No. 6 national ranking, followed closely by Texas Tech at No. 7. They are joined by Oklahoma State at No. 16 and TCU at No. 22. lt;br /> lt;br />The Texas Longhorns are also the defending champions on the women's side, and they enter this year's meet ranked No. 5 in the country. Kansas State checks in behind them at No. 7, while Oklahoma State (No. 11) and Baylor (No. 24) also make the rankings. lt;br /> lt;br />Last season the Longhorns swept the men's and women's indoor and outdoor Big 12 Championships, marking the first "season sweep" since UT also accomplished the feat in 2006. Overall, the Longhorn men have taken home six indoor crowns (1999, 2006, ‘08, ‘09, ‘13, ‘15) and the women have won seven (1998, ‘99, 2002, ‘03, ‘06, ‘14, ‘15). lt;br /> lt;br />Single-session general admission tickets for the championships will be available at the door at Lied Recreation Center. You may purchase a two-day pass - $10 for adults, $5 for children or a single day pass - $7 for adults, $3 for children which is good for one full day of competition. lt;br /> lt;br />The Championship begins Friday at 10 a.m. w
