Oklahoma State's Nick Miller and Kansas State's Erica Twiss were named the Big 12 Track & Field Athletes of the Week. Miller set a national mark in the hammer throw, while Twiss broke a personal record in the long jump.

A total of 190 student-athletes have been named to the 2014 Academic All-Big 12 Track & Field Team. The team consists of 77 honorees on the men's side and 113 female selections.

Texas Tech's JaCorian Duffield and Texas' Ashley Spencer were named the Big 12 Track & Field Athletes of the Week. Duffield broke his own school record in the high jump while Spencer set national marks in the 400-meter and 200-meter.

Balancing school, impending graduation and a sport can be overwhelming for most college students, throw in an internship and it is a recipe for disaster.
